Eyes of a Generation - The world's virtual museum of Television Cameras from America's Golden Age and beyond.

New and Improved Forum Features

We have had a very hard time with spammers lately, but now we have (I think) found a way to have our cake and eat it too.

Visitors can now browse the forums and all the pictures in each without having to do anything but click their way through…no registrations or log ins.

For those that would like to add posts and pictures, there is now a simple 2 step process.

  1. Send me an email and tell me your name, where you are, and if you like, a little about your interest in Television. Include your desired username and password. You can send your email by clicking here.

  2. I will register you and activate your access. When you receive the activation email notice, all you have to do from then on is log in when you want to post.

On the way to the Forum…a quick tutorial on how to upload pictures and files….

To up load a picture or a scanned item, first make sure it is either a .jpg or .gif file. If it is a bitmap, or picture embedded in an email, the forum software will not accept it, but changing the format is not difficult. Most people have a form of Microsoft Paint in their computers and using this program, you can transform most files to a .jpg or .gif simply by importing it into the Paint program and saving it as a .gif or .jpg file.

After that, put the item to upload in a file or place on your desktop that's easy to locate and at the bottom of the forum message window, use the upload attachment tab to browse your way to the picture you want to add, capture it and add the comment or caption you want and then click ''add the file' and the picture should come up in the text message window.

The forum software will not take huge, oversized files but is pretty good about taking ''regular size' pictures.
